This week at Young At Heart ULO we have taken part in a range of activities and spent time with researchers from Newcastle University to discuss their #PriDem research progress.

On Monday morning, the group at St John’s Church actually took place at The Institute in Grangefield where we had our Easter Coffee Morning instead. The coffee morning was a huge success and the entertainment from Billingham based dance school ‘Tap-shoes and Tutus’ run by Miss Amy Cairney. To help with fundraising the group also had a raffle and a number of guessing games.

At the Billingham group, we divided into two teams for an Easter quiz of general knowledge, pictures identification and chocolate slogans. Everyone worked really well together and had great fun.

At The Young Ones group in Thornaby, we continued our discussion about childhood and family life while completing a simple family tree and documenting some key memories and facts about our childhood years.

In Thornaby on Tuesday afternoon, we completed the Easter quiz that the Billingham group had also took part in. We worked together as a group to come up with the answers.

Nobody attended Grangefield on Wednesday.

While, on Thursday our Egglescliffe group enjoyed and afternoon of Dominoes in our temporary location at ‘The Eagle’ whilst the Community Centre was closed for a ‘Beer Festival’.

Next week is a quiet week thanks to the Easter Bank Holidays. Our sessions on Monday will not be taking place but will return on Monday 29th April.
