This week, the team was starting to feel a little more like their old selves following the festive break and a semi-normal service returned to the groups.

On Monday morning, the group in Stockton got active with the parachute exercise activity. All but two of the members took part in the gentle exercise to music and, for the first time ever, there was no rough play when the beanbags and beach ball were introduced!

In Billingham, the Musical Memories session was integrated into the activity group to increase the number of people able to access the fun singing circle activity. The new time slot worked really well and all future Billingham Musical Memories groups will be taking place from 1:30 to 2:30 pm every third Monday, until further notice.

In Thornaby, on Monday afternoon, nobody was able to attend the Young Onset Dementia group held at The LiveWell Dementia Hub. However, our regular activity group on Tuesday afternoon in the same venue was really well attended. The group completed the RSPB Spot It quiz sheets, identifying the different types of birds, trees, plants, and flowers.

On Wednesday evening, 20 group members attended the Hutton Rudby Amateur Dramatics Society’s annual pantomime charity night. Before the show, the group members met at the Wheatsheaf Inn in Hutton Rudby for a bite to eat and something to drink. Then it was off to Hutton Rudby Village Hall to see their centenary production of ‘Sleeping Beauty’. It was a late night for many, with some people being out until the Cinderella’s bedtime!

On Thursday afternoon, the group in Eaglescliffe paired up to complete the RSPB Spot It worksheets and identify the different species of things found in the wild.

Next week we have our Magic Moments Coffee Morning on Tuesday morning 10-12 noon at St Cuthbert’s Church Hall Billingham. This month we will be celebrating the new year, and decade, with performances by the fantastic Caitlin, who will be singing a range of songs from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s while we countdown to noon. Then on Friday 24th, we have our Musical Memories Singing Circle at the LiveWell Dementia Hub in Thornaby.
